Nowhere is the progression of my photography more plain to see than when photographing the Western Isles of Scotland and specifically the Island of Luing. It’s where I first learned to use a camera.
As my photography has changed, so has how I viewed the island.
As I visit the area more often and worry less about photographing magnificent vistas and sunsets, I've begun to appreciate that this is somewhere that people live, work and interact with each other as many others did before them.
I began looking at what made this part of the world different to other parts of the world. Things that contribute so much to the area's character.
I feel obliged to point out that I’ve never seen a horse drawn vehicle on Luing.
