The Kinneil Estate has a rather long and illustrious history. The area was used by the Romans when building the Antonine Wall. Significantly later, a large house was built on the grounds, as well as secret workshops and now public art.
I was there because I was at a loose end and there was a locally organised historic display going on. There were reenactors and guides. I spoke to few of the reenators who said that they had quite short notice so the event was noticeably small. Still, it’s all good fun.
I used the opportunity to photograph the building and surrounding grounds.
