Social media and photography have an odd relationship. There's a lot to be said on the subject and one day I might sit down and think about it and then type about it, but this photo popped up on my Facebook feed last week.
This was the first day that I decided to pick up a camera and take photos of my travels around Scotland on my motorbike. These 'Timehops' on Facebook appear almost daily and almost always elicit the reaction of, "has it been X years already??"
With this, I can hardly believe it's only been five years since day one. Probably because photography has become such an integral part of my life these days that it's hard to picture a time without it. In fact photography has completely re-shaped my life. It's good to be reminded that I've come a long way in those five years.
So while I have plenty to say about the influence social media has on photography, this is a feature that I won't complain about. Until it makes me feel old again.
